Implants are permanent solution for replacing teeth. Completed implants have three main components:
A perfectly aligned titanium post is inserted into your jawbone where the root of the original replaced tooth was. Your natural bone forms around the new titanium post and makes it a permanent structure in your mouth. The newly installed post acts as a new root for a tooth.
The second stage of dental implants is installing what is known as an abutment post. The abutment post is attached to the first titanium post. The abutment extends out of the gum so the newly created ceramic color matched tooth is anchored. Your newly created tooth will perfectly match your existing teeth giving you an ever noticeable beautiful new smile.
Classical dentures are a thing of the past. Dental implants replace the old technology and act exactly as a natural permanent tooth. Dentists in Texas and across the US recommend dental implants before any of the old denture techniques or other tooth replacement options.
New titanium posts promote jawbone growth and jawbone strengthening
Your facial structure isn’t changed or drawn in due to bone deterioration
Instead of loose dentures you will now have a permanent tooth
The implanted tooth gives your smile a much more attractive look
You can smile without having to cover your mouth
You can eat foods you ate in the past and were unable to eat
Unlike annoying moving dentures, your dental implants are comfortable
There more rubbing or clacking and causing you pain
No more using any sticky abrasive adhesives
No more removing and soaking overnight

Dental implants are a surgical process that requires several months to complete, including two surgical phases and a waiting period. Some facts about the process from our Fort Worth implant dentist include the following:
First surgical procedure: The titanium post is surgically inserted into the jaw bone.
Waiting period: This usually lasts between three and six months while the bone grows around the titanium post. The artificial tooth is also being created. During this time you have the option of wearing a temporary tooth.
Second surgical procedure: A small post is attached to the titanium, and the artificial tooth is attached to the post. Once the artificial tooth is in place, you will never see the second post.
Once the newly created ceramic tooth is in place, all that is required is normal dental hygiene which includes brushing twice daily and regular flossing. Ta-da! That’s all that is required to properly care for your new smile.
